SIGNE SCHMIDT CERAMICS

Meet Signe

Meet Signe Schmidt from Sindsro, a dedicated ceramicist and teacher based in Copenhagen.

Her work is deeply rooted in Japanese style, and she creates her designs drawing from Japandi aesthetics, which combines both Japanese and Scandinavian expressions and traditions.

Signe has worked as a ceramicist for approximately 15 years and primarily sells her ceramic pieces in craft shops and online.

Signe Schmidt is best known for her hand-thrown matcha bowls, cups, and cortado cups (small cups for matcha paste), each with a unique composition of form and glaze.

Beyond her ceramic practice, Signe has also taught at FOF, YONOBI, and AOF. She has now started the workshop SINDSRO, where participants can discover the meditative joy and calm of working with clay.

What distinguishes Signe Schmidt’s collection of bowls and cups is her sense of colour and her work with glazes.
